About Starduck Tony
A street performer who travelled by performing on street corners and moving on to the next town with what landed in the hat.
How the journey began, and what came after
In 2012, Starduck Tony set off around the world, taking on something he had never done before: busking. He performed on the streets and received tips as he travelled, returning to Japan in 2013. Any corner with people willing to stop became his stage.
In 2017, Shuppan Works published his Japanese book “Tony no Ore Ikushi!! Sekai Isshu Busking Tabi”, recounting his round-the-world busking journey.
Since then, his work has grown to include television appearances and school performances, sharing what the road had taught him.
In 2025, he took on the streets of Times Square in New York, performing from a tricycle. TAKARABAKO took its current treasure-box form in 2026. Today he drives this mobile stage to events himself.
